Explorers This Friday

Hi Guys

I hope you all enjoyed last weekends camp to Kilcreggan - next time I'll book better weather :-)

Unfortunately I wont be down at Explorers this coming Friday but fear not as Ross has a fun filled jam packed programme for you guys. I still expect your uniforms to be improving week by week (this Friday is no exception). I'll see to it that the following Friday you each get the various badges that you've earned.

Kilcreggan Camp

Hi Guys

Its almost time for camp! This Friday - 6 May 2011 we'll be heading off to camp so there will be No Explorers.

We will be meeting at the Scout Hall at 1830 Sharp. Full uniform must be worn (No Uniform no camp - you have be warned!)

We should be arriving back at the hall at 1600 – to unpack the gear so your parents can expect you ready for about 1630.

Spring Camp

Hi All

This years Spring camp will be to Kilcreggan on on the Clyde coast from 6TH - 8TH May. Am sure most of you remember the site from last year and that we had an excellent time. This year the Explorers will be camping outside - in comfortable patrol tents and to reflect this the program will be based on the outdoors.

We'll be doing all the usual scouting activities as well as some hill walking, wide games, and some badges work.

Last Friday Ross and I gave you introduction to Knife, Axe, and Saw. This ties in with your badge work and will be a key part of camp. As such i don't mind you (Explorers) bringing knives/multi tools and fire steels to camp. This is of course something that should be discussed with your parents and is not an essential part of your kit - so you don't need to run out and buy them!

Full details of the camp will be given on the 29TH April

Easter Holidays

Hi Guys

Please note that there will be No Explorers (or Scouts for any of you with younger brothers or sisters) for the next 3 weeks. We start back on the 29 APRIL 2011.

Spring Clean

Hey Guys

This Saturday (19 March '10) from 9.am-12pm the group will be having a Spring Clean at the Scout Hall. We need as many people as possible to help us out. It'd be great to see all the Explorer Scouts there helping out. We will be tidying the place up and doing a lot of jobs, so if any of your parents are electricians, plumbers, painters, or even just handy with a scewdriver or rake, bring 'em down to give us a hand.

I know you guys won’t need anymore incentive other than helping out your group out! However should your parents need spurred on there will be free tea and coffee etc going round!

Remember and wear old clothes.

Bird of Prey Centre

Hi All

This coming Friday the Scouts & Explorers will be going to Bird of Prey Centre. We will be leaving the hall at 6:30pm and returning around 9:30pm. The cost will be your subs -£3.50. Please remember and wear full uniform!

If any of your parents can lend a hand with transport please let either Stewart or myself know.
